Dread2

So, Dread has been hacked! What's next?

If you are reading this, you are already on our site — just on Dread's domain, in case anyone missed that.

The condition for Dread is this: leave this domain alone. Get in the way, and the data can be published. A deal is on the table — we can hand the domain back, or pass it to someone else if they want it. The contacts further down are how that conversation starts.

We got access to the Dread project. Including the data people treat as untouchable: the domain secret keys are in our hands.

We did not try to blackmail Dread's operators, and we are not going to. We also do not plan to dump leaks, burn user data, or run a circus “for proof” — unless they start making reckless moves. If they don't, users will not be harmed by us.

This situation is live and can change. What is true today may look different tomorrow — either way. Anyone who cares should follow events on the Dread2 forum.

Or maybe Dread itself decided to turn a new page in its life, in this clever way, so that no connections would be left? Hmmm... Interesting thought! Anyway, register. We are building a deeper, more interesting project of international scale — and we will create it together with the users. Official statements are here:

Conclave is facing DDoS attempts, so the forum may occasionally be temporarily unavailable. Save all addresses below; if one does not respond, try another or return later.

We are not interested in mocking old Dread or mapping where and how the project lived (even if there is plenty that would surprise you). One simple point: they spent too long building myths around anonymity and checking the wrong places. While they watched the myths, the things that actually mattered were never really checked. This is not cool hackers beating dumb victims. This is the price of getting comfortable.

On the well-known Dread address, you now randomly get either our project or the original Dread. That gives Dread a chance to publish a new address for you. This domain is now our prize:

We will run a sharper, more usable project — one where every participant can earn.

The new project will be built with the users. Their opinion counts, and it will not be set aside just because Dread used to do it another way.

We are not hiding behind someone else's sign, and we are not asking anyone's permission.

In the pinned thread we will listen to everyone and answer questions when we can — no filler, no theatre.

Direct contacts are for people who want to reach us, if mirrors are down, or if someone is impersonating us. The forum is still the source of truth. Any “new inbox”, Jabber, or Session ID that is not signed with this key is not us.

Jabber and Session are short-term only. They can be rotated or shut off. PGP is the permanent credential. The fingerprint above does not change: use it to check any new contacts.

On the new forum anyone can register — grab a good name while they are still free. Shops already have their own create forms and their own threads, including hidden VIP areas for selected people if you need that. All of it is free for everyone.

If you came here to ask whether we will burn you: no, that is not the plan. If you came to figure out what to do next — register, write in the pin, and keep the mirrors. We are not here to finish someone else's myth. We are here to build a place that does not have to be ashamed of the same mistakes.
